(OOC: Just in case you don't know for some reason, this is Mr. Hetchricks, and Eaon gave me permission to go ahead to post as both Penny and Hetchricks in the same way he's doing it between Eaon and Zeia.)
The Battleships within the harbor of the city of Chaos continued to fire off the canister shells that contained the gas into the city. The flagship of the navy, The Emperor's Commandment, had upon it a system that sent radio broadcasts to the other ships, all of which had a loudspeaker system that was designed to spread their message across a wide area. Within the broadcast room was Major Penny Derris, Poster Girl of the Army and a member of the Sniper Corps. In front of her was a speech that she was to make, first in the native tongue of her nation, then again in the tongue of the savage locals. The only words Penny knew in the local language was the words she was speaking, and only so because she needed to speak it with the same fire and fervor as when she spoke it in the language of Versha. The Radio operator gave Penny the thumbs-up, then he flipped a switch and the hum of the machinery started. The Versha National Anthem was playing in the background while Penny began her speech, first to the troops of Versha, then in the language of the locals.
"People of The Nation of Versha, Fight on with Valor and courage! You are a member of the most advanced military in the world, so engage the enemy without fear! Do not fear death, for if you die that means you died so that your comrades may live, and what greater service can you give to them then that? Our planes will fill the sky, our ships will form an impenetrable line, and our tanks will never be stopped upon the road to victory and conquest! To the Nations of this continent, In the interest of saving your people from sure death in gruesome war against the invincible might of the Imperium of Versha, I ask that you lay down your arms. Only suffering will be brought to your people if you attempt to resist the will of the Emperor, and those who choose to oppose us will be quickly found by Death upon his pale steed, and your struggle will be in vain. There is no real choice to be made here, if you truly have the interest of your people at heart, you will surrender your arms and pledge your fealty to the Imperium. Finally, to the people of this continent, I ask that you provide whatever you can for the war effort of the Versian army, and in return you will be given citizenship in the Imperium, with all of the benefits that this brings. This message will now be repeated." Penny then made the same speech, this time in the language of the locals. When she finished, the message was successfully recorded by the radio operators upon each ship, who then placed the vinyl recording upon another machine, which sent the message through the air. The message was flooded into the city of Chaos and to wherever there was the army of Versha, heartening the troops with her message while sending her warnings and temptations to the people of the backwards nation. After the recording process was finished, the operator turned off the recording equipment, and before any congratulations could be given for her speech she had stood up and was exiting through the door. From the Radio Room, she followed a set of arrows that pointed her along a maze of corridors to the armory. When she finally arrived, the Warrant Officer at the desk stood up and crisply saluted Penny.
"Major Derris, your weapons have been properly taken care of, and the routine maintenance is complete, Ma'am. Will you be retrieving your equipment now? Penny's reply was swift. "Yes." Her gear was brought out of a backroom. It consisted of two sniper rifle cases, a weapons maintenance kit, a spare uniform, the Super Gillie Suit Kit, and the case of Super Piercing Bullets, with the Super Scope already fitted upon the first of the two rifles. After refusing the offer to have the gear carried for her by a valet, she placed her gear upon a wheeled trolley and wheeled the gear out of the armory and towards the Boats, where she was to be ferried to the aircraft carrier Grand Dame, where the rest of her regiment was waiting fer her arrival. Once there, her regiment was ordered to deploy into the city of chaos by parachute, where they were tasked to eliminate the enemy chain of command. This was a blessing, because the 5th was trained in and recruited from the urban battlefields, and as such this was their area of expertise. The Emperor's generals are wise to have developed such a grand strategy as this. Perhaps, one day, I will be recruited to their ranks. It would be a pity, my expertise is upon the battlefield, and it would be squandered within the planning rooms of the commanders.
